ashley + justin // wedding . sparta nc

We were excited to shoot Ashley & Justin's wedding in Sparta - our first ever wedding in the mountains. Ever since I traveled up to see the wedding & reception site with them back in April, I had kind of this fairytale vision of what the wedding was going be like. I'm happy to say that all my expectations were met, plus some. :)

Between the hike through the woods with the guys, the ceremony at the adorable old church in the hills, the reception right on the river (bonfire included), & beautiful mountain overlooks as backdrops for the bride & groom portraits, we got the whole small mountain town experience we were looking for.

During the guys' walk before the wedding, Justin saved a baby deer from some dogs!

Ashley & Justin decided to see each other before the ceremony which is always awesome. It gave us plenty of time to shoot lots of group shots & photos of the bride & groom.

There were a million places I would have loved to stop along the way to the reception, but this sweet field & overlook definitely did the trick.

The reception was right on the banks of New River on the North Carolina state line - you could look across the water & see Virginia.

I wish I could post more of Ashley & Justin's wedding awesomeness, but I've probably posted too many photos already - I guess I'll call it quits for the night. ;)

  3. Hi there,

I found you through Collage's website of the week, but what really interested me is that you guys are from Raleigh, North Carolina.

We are looking to move to North Carolina in about 2 years and I started to look for photographers to network near Charlotte and Thomasville.

You guys do AMAZING work, we love your images and we think you guys have talent. Great idea with the inspirational links, I also set them up on my blog to help spread the word.

I'm a firm believer that there is enough work for everyone and the real competition should be against other vendors and not photographers vs photographers.

Anyways, enough for today, hope we can ask each other questions and be able to network in the future.

  6. Wow, she is incredibly photogenic! What a beautiful face! I particulary love the 2 pictures in the field, the picture of the guy against the fence, and the last 2 pictures. Nice ethereal lighting. Absolutely beautiful!

Earlier you asked if people would tell how we came across the website, I found you through the RCC graduates link. I am a senior going to RCC next year, and I look at the blogs frequently for fun and also when I need inspiration.
