rebekah + steve // wedding . burlington nc

Rebekah & Steve's wedding was held at the [ First Baptist Church of Burlington ]. Both Rebekah & Steve's fathers officiated the ceremony together, which made for a really unique & personal ceremony. The reception was held at [ Elon University's ] Moseley Center, so we were happy to be able to explore Elon's beautiful campus beforehand & shoot some great shots of the bride & groom.

Rebekah & Steve's wedding was the start of what has been a crazy marathon of weddings this summer, so there will be much more blogging to come soon!!

cathy + chris // engagement . winston-salem nc

Cathy & Chris are such a fun couple, full of personality - I think the first picture tells it all. :) Our shoot started out in downtown Winston-Salem where we found all kinds of fun places to shoot in the areas surrounding the arts district.

I swear, this Budweiser truck followed us around everywhere we went. So of course, we had to get a quick shot with it before it took off for its next delivery.

Music has played a big part in Chris & Cathy's lives. He is in a band (Chris actually played with them at their wedding - shots from that to come soon!) & even proposed to Cathy through song. How awesome is that?? So naturally, our last stop downtown was at the music shop where Chris learned his stuff when he was younger.

Then on to [ Reynolda Gardens ]. Who knew they had an awesome field full of dandelions?!

On top of being super nice people, Cathy & Chris won us over with their graceful cartwheeling skills. Check them out in all their glory. ;)

And for our last stop of the day, we made a quick trip out to India to visit the Taj Mahal (at least in spirit, anyway). ;)

Cathy & Chris, thanks for being your awesome selves. We had a blast!

Can't wait to blog some pictures from the day & let you guys see some detail shots from the reception - gorgeous!

We are so excited to have one of our bridal shoots chosen as Collages.net's Website of the Week! Every week they review all of the online proofing sites uploaded across the country & choose one wedding & one portrait site to feature.

Can't wait for the wedding to come around in September so we can finally share the link & some photos from this shoot with you guys - it was one of our favorite bridal shoots to date! :)

ashley + justin // wedding . sparta nc

We were excited to shoot Ashley & Justin's wedding in Sparta - our first ever wedding in the mountains. Ever since I traveled up to see the wedding & reception site with them back in April, I had kind of this fairytale vision of what the wedding was going be like. I'm happy to say that all my expectations were met, plus some. :)

Between the hike through the woods with the guys, the ceremony at the adorable old church in the hills, the reception right on the river (bonfire included), & beautiful mountain overlooks as backdrops for the bride & groom portraits, we got the whole small mountain town experience we were looking for.

During the guys' walk before the wedding, Justin saved a baby deer from some dogs!

Ashley & Justin decided to see each other before the ceremony which is always awesome. It gave us plenty of time to shoot lots of group shots & photos of the bride & groom.

There were a million places I would have loved to stop along the way to the reception, but this sweet field & overlook definitely did the trick.

The reception was right on the banks of New River on the North Carolina state line - you could look across the water & see Virginia.

I wish I could post more of Ashley & Justin's wedding awesomeness, but I've probably posted too many photos already - I guess I'll call it quits for the night. ;)
