ashley + landon // wedding . long creek sc

There couldn't have been a more beautiful backdrop for Ashley & Landon's big day than [ Chattooga Belle Farm ]! This working farm in Long Creek, SC was the perfect place to tie the knot, with its gorgeous view overlooking the vineyard & orchards, & the Blue Ridge Mountains off in the distance. The venue in itself was perfectly-suited for Ashley & Landon, but what really made it "them" were all of the personal touches they added to each & every detail of the day. Loved it all!

Ashley got her hair & makeup done by Jessica Dunn of [ La Bella Hair & Makeup ].

Landon & the groomsmen all wore ties handmade by one of Ashley & Landon's family members. They wound up being a little bit too long, so the guys found some scissors & made some last minute adjustments. ;)

Ashley & Landon tied the knot under the barn, with a beautiful view of rolling hills & mountains in the background.

Chattooga Belle was a great place to take photos of the newlyweds. We wondered through the vineyard & orchard, & everywhere we went was just perfectly picturesque.

I should also mention that Landon's vest was handmade too. Don't you just love the star buttons?! The girls' bouquets & all the centerpieces were put together with fresh cut flowers from [ Earth Blooms ], a local flower farm that specializes in a broad range of environmentally responsible gardening techniques & organic practices.

A seriously amazing view!

Ashley & Landon made every effort to keep their wedding green, including using compostable plates, cups, napkins, & cutlery - all of which made it back to "Back to the Garden" compost. Brasstown Barbecue put together an amazing spread of barbecue yumminess including chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, & a fantastic Brunswick stew.

I was so in love with their takeaway gifts - Nana's peach preserves in their adorable gingham wrappings & the little burlap sacks labeled "as good as it grits" were way too cute!!

Ashley's matron of honor made all of the cakes & desserts & did a fantastic job. Loved the adorable personalized clothespin cake topper, too!

The [ Lomax Observation Circle ] out back made a great place for guests to hang out during the cocktail hour & enjoy a cold beer & peanuts.

There were quite a few kids in attendance, so Ashley & Landon made a special point to set up a fantastic kids area where they could play games & do some arts & crafts. The adults wound up really enjoying the bolo toss & cornhole games, too. :)

Ashley & Landon's had their first dance just as the sun hit the horizon, & it was the perfect start to a wonderful evening. Their live bluegrass band, [ The Whiskey Gentry ], kept the music going & guests on their feet all night.

And as Ashley put it, they were off "in a flurry of lavender!"

And last but not least, a few photos from our costume photobooth!

natalie + ramesh // engagement . durham nc

Natalie & Ramesh are such sweet, down-to-earth, easy-going people. Their engagement shoot was a blast & we are really looking forward to this spring when we will have the opportunity to photograph their wedding & all of its beautiful Indian traditions & ceremonies - can't wait!!

They came all the way from Nebraska to take care of some final wedding details, & we were so glad it worked out to squeeze in an engagement session while they were in town! We spent the afternoon getting to know each other & exploring downtown Durham - lots of fun. :)

While downtown, we peeked into a couple of the shops in [ Brightleaf Square ]. We came across [ Offbeat Music ] & Ramesh was right at home - he even found a couple vinyls worth packing up & bringing back to Nebraska with him. I love when we are able to incorporate little details like this into our engagement sessions to make them a bit more personal. Always fun. :)

We also made sure to stop by [ Amelia Cafe ] for some gelato - yum!

For the last part of our session, we headed over to [ Sarah P Duke Gardens ] for a change of scenery - always a great place to shoot in Durham for a more natural setting.

Love this series - so cute. :)

Thanks again, Natalie & Ramesh! It was great getting to know you better & we can't wait to see you again in the spring! :)
